Hey y’all!
I’m Meghan — a mama to three self-directed teens. I host a podcast, curate an unschooling zine, organize a virtual community on Discord, and am a Board Member of the Alliance for Self-Directed Education. I have been unschooling with my family for many years, moved a lot, and experienced many ways to dwell. I am currently living and learning in Europe.
Although unschooling started as an educational choice many years ago, I’ve really leaned into an approach to unschooling that bucks the rules (yep! those unschooling hard lines & sometimes dogmatic principles) and focused on an intersectional lens toward life. This really brings the individual autonomy and freedoms into the context of the greater collective and the many barriers folks face, to being free to learn how they wish.
I enjoy collaborating with others, having warm authentic conversations with people, sitting with new ideas and letting them dance in my brain, gardening every possible season (even if on a terrace), being near water, reading, painting and traveling.
I’m passionate about self-directed education — even more passionate about community, and collective liberation. I’m here for the people, and I’m so glad you’re here. ♥
